This is a groundbreaking FDA approved device for peripheral nerve pain. It had been successfully used in Europe for many years and had been FDA approved in the United States for the past two years

The indications for Stimrouter includes but not limited to peripheral nerve pain, peripheral neuropathy, tarsal tunnel, neuritis, complex regional pain syndrome and many other complex nerve and neurological issues

An average reduction of pain reported by patients is at least 53%. I also recommend to patients who have had surgeries in the past and do not want to commit to another operation yet.

It is a great way of controlling chronic nerve pain without committing to a surgical intervention.

I always perform a trial implant placement in the office to ensure that the desirable results are realistic. This is a 15 minute procedure that is more diagnostic in nature. Once we ensure that the trial is working, I will take the patient into a Day Surgery Center setting to implant a very small elastic transducer over the common peroneal nerve or posterior tibial
nerve.

The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes.

It provides the advantages of permanent solution to nerve pain with minimally invasive intervention and puts patients in full control of their pain relief.

I have also found it to be very useful for patients who are on opioids, in order to try to reduce or completely stop utilization of narcotics
