Our New Laser Technology Is Available

0578481001602802469.jpgSerena Williams withdrew from the second round of the French Open due to an Achilles tendon injury. Apparently, this is not a fresh injury that she sustained during the French Open, but more of a chronic ongoing issue. Even though I’m not a treating physician for Serena, she had multiple lower extremity injuries in the past 10 years including one that required surgery and had to be redone two times. Serena is very open about health complications she had after her 2nd foot surgery including a blood clot in her leg called deep venous thrombosis with pulmonary emboli. She also had a second blood clot in her leg immediately following the delivery of her daughter. Serena Williams arrived in Paris with an injured Achilles tendon but did not want to drop out of French Open. She played the first round but was limping during the press conference. She admitted receiving laser therapy and icing it prior to the second round.

At Central Florida foot and ankle we’re proud to announce that we also offer the same type of laser therapy for Achilles tendinitis and many other musculoskeletal pathologies. Three weeks ago we purchased a new Remy laser which offers the newest laser technology to improve function faster and reduce pain and inflammation. Laser technology can be used for Achilles tendinitis, Plantar Fasciitis, arthritis, postoperative pain, healing chronic ulcerations, and many other modalities. We also offer other advanced therapies for Achilles tendinitis such as amniotic amniox injections and minimally invasive Tenjet and Tenex procedures that allow our patients to walk within days of the procedure. Four years ago, the only surgical option for a partial Achilles tendon tears that did not improve with conservative care would be open operation. That would require 4 to 6 weeks of non-weight bearing which was devastating to even mildly athletic patients. With Tenjet and Tenex, patients are able to walk within days of the minimally invasive procedure that does not even require stitches
