Hey Dr. Wellens,
"I appreciate the fungus stuff you gave me... IT WORKED!!! :-) I went and got my toenails done last night and they are clean again. I used my own toenail supplies, anyways really grateful for the stuff you gave me... thanks and if you want another pic I'm down to take another one to post up on the internet."

"Thanks for "chasing" my cure. SEE THE ANIMATED CARD
--Margaret

DEAR DR. WELLENS,
"This is just a small token of my appreciation for your fine care and professionalism in your office. Too often in American healthcare, we do not hear praise for good outcomes from our patients, only complaints from those that are dissatisfied. My right foot has not felt so well for the past fifteen years. Also, the orthotic inserts are great!
Thank you."
-- Michael

Success Story - Marsha's letter

Triple Arthrodesis Surgery - "I am here 5 years after my surgery. I originally had big heavy braces had worn them for 4 years. I was told by other doctors that there was nothing they could do about my condition and I would wear these braces forever. So I came Dr. Wellens office and she said there is something they can do about it. Now after the surgery I look and feel like a girl again and can dance and walk again. It was a pretty extensive surgery where they fused 3 different joints in my foot and ankle. The surgery is a long process but I would highly recommend coming to Dr. Wellens to have the surgery. Dr. Wellens is my angel."
--BARBARA

TARSAL TUNNEL SURGERY - "It has been 4 years since my Tarsal Tunnel surgery in my right leg. Before the surgery I had so much pain that I could only walk for 1 mile a day and only 10 feet at a time. I would walk 10 feet then stop and wait 10 minutes and then walk another 10 feet. It really crippled me. It interfered with my lifestyle. I would highly recommend this surgery to anyone who has the same problem and if it happened to my other leg I would have the surgery done right away. My leg is working perfectly and I have no pain whatsoever."
-- Robert

Arthritis and Joint Replacement Surgery - "I had my last evaluation today from my joint replacement surgery I had on March 5th. I was in a lot of pain before coming to see Dr. Wellens. She put an artificial joint in my foot and it was definitely worth having the surgery. My pain level is very minimum and I would recommend having the surgery done. "
-- Joan

Hammertoe Surgery " Today I had my final visit after my hammertoe surgery. It has been almost 3 months since I had the surgery. Before the surgery I was in a lot of pain and wasn't able to walk at all. I couldn't even find shoes that would fit my feet. The surgery wasn't painful at all and after the surgery I have no pain at all. If you are thinking about having surgery I would highly recommend having surgery. It is the best thing I have ever done and my toe looks better than it has looked in a long time."
-- Paula

Neuroma Surgery " Today is my last visit after my neuroma surgery. I had my neuroma for almost 2 years and tried everything. I tried orthotics, and we tried injections and nothing helped. My pain some days reached 10 on the pain scale and I couldn't take it anymore. It has been about 6 weeks and I am doing very well. I have no pain at all after the surgery and it was absolutely 100% worth while. I was scared but knew I had to have it done and I thank you."
-- Gail

Bunion Surgery "I had bunion surgery 3 & 1/2 months ago and had my neuromas removed also. I was in so much pain I limped while I walked and had to stop exercising. The surgery was very simple and after about a week the pain to go away. I didn't use too many medications because I kept my foot upright and didn't need them. I would definitely recommend the surgery and put it off for years and I wish I had the bunion surgery years ago. I am 3 months out from the surgery and I am 97% better now."

I had pain for a year and we tried 2 cortisone injections, a night splint, stretching, and an arch support and I was still in pain. I was in a lot of pain. I had to get numbed up because I was in so much pain just for the doctor to touch me. I 3 treatments of shockwave therapy with 1 week apart and I am at least 90% better now. I had seen several doctors before coming in to see Dr. Wellens and it is well worth getting the shots done."
-- Nancy

Fallen Arch - Ritchie Brace: "I broke my foot when I was 8 years old and it never healed the right way. I came in to see Dr. Gallina because I couldn't walk. Now I can ride my bike and go deer hunting again."

Well it never healed so I asked for a new doctor and they sent me to Dr. Gallina. He put me in a cast and he is the one that healed me and saved my foot. If it wasn't for him I don't know where I would be right now. My foot is healed and thanks to him I am on my way to a full recovery. I can't say enough about the staff and they are wonderful. They are the most caring and professional staff I have ever visited. I will never forget what he has done for me. I had orthotics made and special shoes for more support and cushion on my ankle. I would highly recommend Dr. Gallina to everyone I know. He is the best in the state of Florida."
-- Sylvia

We tried several treatments and finally decided to do the topaz compilation treatment. I would say I am much better and can walk now and I feel like a person again. I was miserable and life how changed a lot for my family. I tried several procedures including medicine, physical therapy and even went to different doctors. Then I came to see Dr. Gallina and I found out the Dellon Procedure has put me on high and changed my life for the good. I couldn't feel much right away then after the follow up I could feel my big toe and haven't felt that feeling in years. Once recovery from surgery I couldn't feel any burning or pain. -- Claire

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY ( learn more ) "I had shockwave therapy treatment and I am very pleased with the results. Dear Dr. Gallina,
"I would like to thank you for taking such wonderful care of my foot. After 4 doctors I found you. If it was not for you I would have never had a cast. I am walking today without nuts, bolts, and screws. You are the only doctor who cared, took the time, and listened. I hear you talking to your patients and you have a heart. Again I am so thankful I found you. God bless you!
Sincerely,
-- Sylvia R.

"Thank you Dr. Wellens, my foot is feeling MUCH better and thank you for your making it better. You are a breath of fresh air and are a credit to your profession. I wish there were MORE Doctors out there who are as compassionate about their work as you are. I wish that I could find a personal physician who is just like you. Most that I have come across are not as personable as you.... THANK YOU for being who you are, a kind and caring individual."
-- Glenn S.

Dear Dr. Wellens,
"I wanted to write to you, because I've thought of you often since I was in to see you about my ankle last week. It has been my experience throughout life that the doctors I've seen have been arrogant and aloof individuals. So it was an unexpected delight to find that you are neither. Instead, I found you to be down to earth and an attentive and interested listener. What a nice surprise! If only other doctors understood and appreciated how alienating their exalted view of themselves is. Arrogance serves no one well, but as the old saying goes; friendliness is the grease that lubricates the wheels of life. What a pleasure it was to meet you and welcome you into my life as my doctor. Thank you for being so nice and so easy to relate to."
-- Ellen

"I am a 63 year old white female. I have been bothered with diabetic neuropathy for about 8 years. It had gotten so bad, it wastotally consuming me. The pain and tingling were there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I have been taking Neurontin (1800 mg.Daily) for about 3 years and it did help a little, but the pain and the tingling numbness were so bad at night that I had troublesleeping. I read an article in the local newspaper about the Dellon Procedure. I understood it was not a cure for neuropathy, butmight give me some relief. I spoke with my primary care physician and he recommended that I try it. I made an appointment withDr. Michael Gallina, who performs the procedure. He gave me an exam and said the chances of it helping me were only about35%. I decided to have the procedure. I had surgery on my right foot on November 4, 2005 and followed with the left foot onDecember 2, 2005.

I am so glad that I had it done, because the pain that I experienced from my feet and into my leg is no longer there. I still have asmall amount of the numbness and tingling in my toes, but it is so much better. I would say that I have at least 75% of the feelingback in my feet and none of the sharp shooting pain from my toes into my legs. The Dellon Procedure has certainly worked forme and I would recommend it to anyone who has diabetic neuropathy."
